about

"London-based “non music” producer 0comeups’s One Deep, released via New York City’s increasingly abstracting PTP imprint, is an ontology of planes and spheres collapsing into a single point suspended in blind constellation. 4/5 (EUREKA!)" - Tiny Mix Tapes. Web. 4 October 2016.
------------
"The thick rubbery gongs of “Go Plug” and alien vocal approximations of “Try To Levitate Above It All” sound far removed from any presets you might hear from a floor model at your local Guitar Center. Chin-scratching fans of Oneohtrix Point Never should find a lot to ogle and adore here, from the otherworldly vocal grate and vaguely Eastern melodies of “Renew Me” to the dystopian hard drive grunge of “Hyperspice.” Warped closer “On The Roof Texting” soundtracks circuitry as much as it does the ups and downs of human life." - "Digital/Divide: September’s Best Electronic Music Reviewed." Vinyl Me, Please. Web. 30 September 2016.
------------
"Get 0comeups record :)" - TCF. Web. 27 September 2016.
------------
"(G)etting just the right balance of synthetic weirdness and swooning sentiment." - Resident Advisor. Web. 23 September 2016.
------------
"The project arguably carries over some of 0comeups signature aesthetics from his previous alias, but the distinction between the erstwhile sound and the new lies in its far denser yet layered construction, stacking melodies, harmonised voices and pads with a fathomless depth of field and uncanny sense of ecological instability, as though one more misplaced sound could send the whole thing crashing down like a carelessly placed card. " - Boomkat. Web. 23 September 2016.
------------
"Renew Me" featured in "The only tracks you need to hear this week." Dazed. Web. 9 September 2016
------------
"Renew Me" featured in "Playlist: The best new music." Dummy. Web. 2 September 2016

"Noises, arpeggios, vocal echoes and celestial openings make this project difficult but at the same time very interesting." - DJ Mag Italy. Print. August 2016
=========================
London-based producer 0comeups continues this trajectory with his latest release, One Deep, on Geng’s Purple Tape Pedigree label. Over 5 tracks, he explores disparate sonic textures that come together to create a virtual studio technology for laptop producers somewhere in an alternate hyperreality. Although aiming not to reveal too much of himself in this collection of songs, wanting it to sound like a "preset library demo," there still remain traces of 0comeups' emotions in the project’s synthetic layered vocals, dreamy pads, and blunted clamors - generating themselves seemingly out of nowhere, only to digitally disintegrate moments later.

One Deep stands as both the closing chapter to Purple Tape Pedigree and the shift into a new mode of operation as simply PTP. After 15 releases in the last 12 months - with 3 more from years prior - this transformation comes through a yearning to deviate further away from the traditional framework. What will remain is the focus on increasingly extreme sonics and collaboration, while embracing a signature design approach. A graduation from erstwhile flesh.
